I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. I graduated from North Carolina Central with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2014 and have since worked with populations that are struggling with either mental health disorders (such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma), addiction, or both.
I feel most effective treating adults and have 6 years’ experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I use some Dialectical Behavioral Therapy but I would not consider myself to be a DBT therapist. I hold the belief that every person is inherently good, lovable, capable, and resilient.
My role is to support clients in discovering their true selves in a culturally sensitive, safe, and caring environment. My commitment is to create a space in which we can work together by reflecting on the past and the present moment, and practicing new ways of being and connecting with others. Outside of practicing therapy, I enjoy live music, the natural world, and spending time with my husband, pets, and friends.
